Unregistered competitors take centre stage at The Meadows

Lurgan venue hosts classes from cross-poles up to 1.20m

The Meadows Equestrian Centre, Lurgan ran their popular unregistered jumping on Saturday, with lots of talented combinations taking on the challenge of jumping round the professionally designed tracks at heights from cross-poles up to 1.20m.

The 1.20m class belonged to the girls and saw Rosa McIlhatton on ‘Buster’ and Anna White on ‘Dora’ both jumping double clear rounds - well done, girls!

Hello and welcome to Horse&Field. Our aim is to support local, grass roots equestrian enthusiasts and competitors and keep you all informed of what’s happening in the horsey world, as well as covering all things agricultural. If you haven’t already subscribed you can do so below:

Rosa and Anna had both previously jumped double clear in the 1.10m class, where they were accompanied by five other talented competitors - John Jordan, Erin McClernon, Rodney Herron and Maya Constable with two mounts.

Eight combinations kept all the poles intact in both rounds of the 1m class, while seven kept a clean sheet over the 90cm track, with eight doing so in the 80cm class.

Moya Cronin and ‘Creegan Belle’ jumped clear in the 90cm class at The Meadows.

In the 70cm class, 12 competitors took on the course, with just six of them jumping double clear, while in the 60cm class, Lily Crawford was the only rider to jump double clear and on both her mounts.

Grace Kerrigan was the only double clear in the 50cm class, with no results listed for the cross-poles class.
