Dressage at Home and International ran its third annual residential camp and Gala Show at Castle Irvine, Necarne at the beginning of October - with many of the participants having booked their places after having such an enjoyable time at last year’s camp!

Dressage at Home proprietor Emma Hobson had gone to great lengths to compile an itinerary to suit all levels of horse and rider over the weekend, with a mix of lessons with experienced instructors, educational talks, demonstrations of various aspects of equestrianism, such as nutrition, bitting and Working Equitation, as well as a very entertaining quiz and even dressage to music performances!

Not even Storm Amy in all her glory could deter Emma, who kept adjusting the schedule to suit the rather wild weather on Friday, or the tenacious campers, who took on the conditions with smiles on their faces and a willingness to learn from every experience.
Thankfully, the weather was a bit more settled on Saturday and had calmed considerably for Sunday’s Gala Show - so the smiles grew even bigger when the dressage tests led to super scores and fabulous rosettes!!
Well done to Emma for keeping the show on the road and to all participants for rolling with what were at times challenging conditions with such positive attitudes.
