Weather warning brings local equestrian postponements

After a not-so-bad weekend weather-wise last week, the storms are upon us yet again… There are yellow weather warning in place over this coming weekend, which have resulted in the postponement of some much looked forward to equestrian activities.

So, while this Horse&Field newsletter brings you another instalment of equestrian reports, results and pictures, it also includes some important notices and news! Please make sure you check with the venue or organiser before you travel to ensure that your planned activity is going ahead.
Knockagh View, Greenisland held a very popular Pre-Season Show on Sunday, with glorious weather and beautifully turned out competitors across showing and Working Hunter classes.
Eventing Ireland Northern Region have made the difficult decision to postpone this weekend’s planned event at Tyrella until the following Saturday, due to the forecast of Storm Kathleen.
Likewise, Strule Valley Riding club had re-scheduled their Annual Working Hunter competition until the following Saturday.

Meanwhile, Down Royal Racecourse has announced a continued partnership with Britvic prior to their May Day race meeting.
A meeting of Northern Ireland’s two veterinary associations took place recently, with a high level of interest in IBR and parasite controls.
On a positive note, there is a chance to win tickets to Badminton Horse Trials… Wouldn’t that be nice to look forward to?
