What a weekend of pony competition at The Meadows!
Pony Premier Show run alongside TRI Equestrian and Ulster Region Spring Pony Final at Lurgan venue
After another fantastic series, a Pony Premier Show was run alongside the TRI Equestrian and Ulster Region Spring Pony Final at The Meadows Equestrian Centre, Lurgan over the weekend of July 12 and 13 and what a weekend of competition it was!
Saturday saw Ballinroe Pony Premier classes being held and certainly saw some premier competition! In the Children on Horses classes, Megan Hannaway rode Aimee McKenna’s ‘Aimee's Diamond’ to win the 1.10m section, while Zoe Mellett steered Martin Mellett’s ‘Jasmine Tide’ into pole position in the 1.20m section.

Ben Hawkins and Shane Hawkins’s ‘Whistletown Blue Belle’ won the 128 Under 10s class, with Lily McBride on ‘Poynstown Little Albert Einstein’, owned by Tt Equine, winning the 128 pony class.
The 138 class went to Chantal Whitehead on Alexandra Whitehead’s ‘Sergant Jack’, while the 148 class was won by Ruben Foley on Kilcreene Enterprises’s ‘Griffindor Dream Dei’.
Many more young riders and their ponies showcased their talents across the numerous classes throughout the day, including Medb Kinney who rode Michael McCann’s ‘Mustique Os’ to win the 148 1.20m Prl Pathway Series class.
On Sunday, the TRI Equestrian and Ulster Region Spring Pony Final was held, with a full range of classes from 128 50cm right up to 148 1.20m and Children On Horses.
As ever, there was some hot competition, with these talented stars of the future throwing caution to the wind in their bid to finish top of their class!
In the 128 50cm class, Mya O'Neill rode Emma O'Neill’s ‘Glebe Star’ into first place, while at the other end of the scale in the 148 1.20m class, Adam Adair steered Sparkling Equine’s ‘Sparkling Avalon Radisson’ to take the top spot.
