Working Hunter league gets underway at Ardnacashel

Comber venue sees a summer's day as they host horse and pony classes

Sunday, March 9 saw the start of the Working Hunter League and NIF Qualifiers at Ardnacashel Equestrian, Comber. Each class was judged by Mr Brian Murphy, who was assisted by steward, Miss Adele Huddleson.

It was like a summer's day at Ardnacashel, with the sun shining and Ella's Kitchen packed with customers - competitors and spectators made good use of the cafe's picnic tables and enjoyed watching the competition, whilst eating their lunch.

Nathan McCausland and ‘Fuerty Faite Lad’ won the 80cm Horse Qualifier at week one of Ardnacashel’s Working Hunter league.

Jorja Dickson and ‘Harvey’ were runners-up in the 40cm class at week one of Ardnacashel’s Working Hunter league.

50cm (incl. Cradle Stakes Qualifiers):

1) Ella Dickson, Harvey (Q); 2) Carter Greeves, Lily (Q); 3) Josh Kennedy, Cobweb (Q); 4) Wesley Coles, Rhydian (Q); 5) Gillian McCormick, Charlie.

60cm Pony:

1) Katie Pryor, Carlsberg; 2) Ella Dickson, Skyfall; 3) Sienna Doherty, Geincroft Andrea; 4) Isabella Graham, Kildenoge Boy; 5) Caelan Greeves, Sam; 6) Holly McCarroll, Ballyderg Zara.

60cm Horse:

1) Faye Flood, Castlehill Ozi.

65cm Small Breed Qualifier:

1) Ella Dickson, Skyfall (Q).

70cm Pony:

1) Katie Pryor, Carlsberg; 2) Sienna Doherty, HPI Duffy; 3) Amira Greeves, Sadie Sue.

Katie Pryor and ‘Carlsberg’ won both the 60cm and 70cm Pony classes at week one of Ardnacashel’s Working Hunter league.

70cm Horse (incl. Four-year-old Qualifier):

1) Emma Jackson, Glasdrumman Moores Touch (Q); 2) Judith Bankhead, Keeva; 3) Faye Flood, Castlehill Ozi; 4) Emma Jackson, Glasdrumman For Sure (Q); 5) Nicola Caughey, Cobweb.

Emma Jackson and ‘Glasdrumman Moores Touch’ won the 70cm Horse class and the Four-year-old NIF qualifier at week one of Ardnacashel’s Working Hunter league.

80cm Pony:

80cm Horse Qualifier:

Freya Bevan and ‘Buddy’ won both the 90cm Pony class and the 1m Qualifier at week one of Ardnacashel’s Working Hunter league.
