Equine pursuits to suit all tastes and abilities
Show jumping, arena eventing, dressage - something for everyone
Hello everyone,
Maybe it’s wishful thinking, but I think I have seen a wee stretch in the evenings this past week, which is always a positive sign! It’s still rather cold though, with rumours of sleet or snow in the days ahead, so spring isn’t quite with us yet…

The weekend saw a great selection of equine activities taking place around the country, including show jumping, arena eventing and dressage, with something to suit all tastes and abilities.
This Horse&Field newsletter brings you reports, results and pictures from those local activities, as well as details of forthcoming activities and, as always, the calendar.
The Flexi Eventing Series continued at The Meadows, Lurgan on Saturday and things are getting interesting, with some tough competition for places on the league leaderboard.
Connell Hill kicked off their show jumping schedule for the year with a Training Show on Saturday, which attracted competitors from all over the country.
Friday evening saw the conclusion of the first show jumping league of the year at Ecclesville. Organisers continue to be amazed by the popularity of these leagues and, while they are taking a short break, another league is scheduled to start on March 1.
Seskinore Harriers Branch of the Pony Club held a very successful Silver Show at Ecclesville recently, with lots of happy riders taking home the silverware!
Dressage Ireland Northern Region moved to Danescroft, Lisburn for the latest leg of their winter league on January 28. The windy weather didn’t prevent some fabulous test from being ridden, with scores to match!
Portmore held a two-day registered New Year Horse Show over the weekend of January 27 and 28, with some impressive jumping on display for this early stage in the year.
