Hi folks,
The past week has been another busy one, so there are lots of results and pictures to share with you from the numerous equine shows and activities that have taken place recently.

It is the turn of Armagh Show this weekend, in its wonderful setting of Gosford Forest Park - if you don’t currently have plans for Saturday, it is definitely worth a visit! Fingers crossed the weather stays dry for Armagh and for the numerous other shows and events that are scheduled to take place, including the two-day Banbridge Charity Show, which is being held at The Meadows, Lurgan.

Armagh Show fast approaching
The 177th Armagh County Agricultural Show and Country Festival will return this Saturday, June 8 to the beautiful surroundings of Gosford Forest Park, close to the village of Markethill, on the main Armagh / Newry Road, six miles from Armagh and 12 miles from Newry.
Air Ambulance Show draws crowd to Ardnacashel
Saturday, May 25 was the Annual Air Ambulance Show at Ardnacashel Equestrian, Comber and what a day they had, with over 150 competitors! The sun was shining, the horses were glowing and the riders were showing their class. The title sponsor, HoneyChop Horse Feeds, donated lots of prizes and goodie bags, which were presented to riders on the day.
Connell Hill competitors in top form at Training Show
The Training Show on Saturday, June 1 at Connell Hill, Randalstown saw sisters Maisie and Adalyn Wallace taking joint first in the cross-poles class, kindly sponsored by Doagh Equestrian. Keeva McElhennon rode her first mount of the day, ‘Coco’, in the 50cm class to tie with Conan Boyle on ‘Butternut’, while third place went to Zeke Baillie on ‘Mosstown…
Fabulous final at Ecclesville
The final of the third of Ecclesville’s Show jumping Leagues for 2024 was held on Friday, May 31 and it was again very competitive. The qualified competitors were definitely up for the challenge of Raymond Caldwell’s courses, as they twisted and turned to achieve the fastest times possible!
SJI horses on form at Connell Hill
Connell Hill’s SJI Horse League continued on Thursday, May 30, with classes running from 90cm up to 1.30m. There was a great turnout across the classes, but particularly in the 1.10m and 1.20m classes, with a super number of clear rounds being jumped.
Pony Premier weekend at The Meadows
There was a fantastic turnout of ponies and riders and all their support teams, as the Meadows Equestrian Centre, Lurgan, hosted the Ballinroe Pony Premier and Boomerang.ie Starfinder over two days on May 25 and 26. Seskinore Harriers compete in Area Games
Seskinore Harriers was well-represented at the Area 17 Games Final hosted by North Derry Pony Club at the Meadows Equestrian Centre, Lurgan on Saturday, May 25. The Meadows hosts RDS qualifier
Wednesday, May 22 saw an RDS Horse Qualifier being held at The Meadows Equestrian Centre, Lurgan, hosting classes for four-, five-, six- and seven- and eight-year-old horses. There was a great turnout across the classes, which led to some super competition, as everyone tried their best to secure a place to compete at Dublin Horse Show in August.
Feed manufacturer calls for votes to help weight watchers at Redwings
The SPILLERS™ brand is calling for horse lovers to help them ‘Battle the Bulge’ by choosing how to spend a donation of £5K to help weight-watching horses and ponies at Redwings Horse Sanctuary. The Battle of the Bulge campaign is part of the brand’s partnership with the charity to help end equine obesity by 2035.
