A fantastic new venue has been secured for this year's Saintfield Horse Show, which will take place on Saturday, August 26.
Show Organiser, Joan Cunningham said:
"We are absolutely delighted that Mr Gerry McPolin, Downpatrick Road, Ballynahinch, has very kindly agreed to host this year's Show. Mr McPolin is extremely well-known in the equestrian world throughout Ireland and for quite a number of years organised and hosted the very popular pre-Balmoral Show.
"The venue is absolutely magnificent, with lots of flat green fields and hardcore parking space. There is a lovely flat concrete area, which will be ideal for collecting numbers, food village, trade stands and toilets," Joan concluded.
As most people know, Saintfield Horse Show is a 100% Charity Show, with all proceeds going to charity. Saintfield Horse Show / Gymkhana actually started in 1982 and carried on through until about 1986, when it stopped for a number of years and recommenced in 2009.
The Show has grown enormously over the years and has had a large number of Championships. This year, organisers have added new Championships to the list and, without doubt, Saintfield Horse Show has become a Championship Show!
Saintfield Horse Show will once again run a coach to Dublin Horse Show on Thursday, August 10 and Saturday, August 12, leaving Andrews' yard at 50 Lisburn Road, Saintfield at 7am and arriving at the RDS at approximately 9am.
The coach will depart from Dublin Horse Show at 6pm and return to Saintfield, giving everyone a full hassle-free day at the Show! The cost of the trip will be £25 return journey.
