Well I hope you had a good weekend with your equine friends (four-legged and two-legged varieties!), I certainly did! I had the pleasure of participating in a fantastic clinic at Duke’s and met some lovely (and very talented) horsey people - you know who you are!!

It has been a great week for local competition, with something to suit all levels, across various disciplines. Please click on each story to read the article and see more photos…
There is just no keeping the Northern Region eventing community down. They may have been disappointed about the cancellation of the event at Loughanmore (which has now been re-scheduled for Saturday, August 19), but they rallied together and, at short notice, organised and ran an outstanding Derby at Danescroft!
Speaking of eventing, the Meadows hosted the Irish Breeders’ Young Event Horse Challenge last Wednesday, with some exceptionally talented young horses showcasing their potential.
For the show jumpers among you, unregistered competitors will be pleased to hear that Knockagh View commenced their mid-week show jumping last Wednesday, with overwhelming entries!
While for registered competitors, Connell Hill held another leg of their SJI Summer League on Thursday.
With multiple arenas in operation, The Meadows catered for both registered and unregistered competitors, with their SJI Horse Autumn Series and Cash Back Unregistered show jumping both taking place.
RDA riders from Northern Ireland celebrated after their successes at the RDA National Championships in Hartpury.
