Full steam ahead with equestrian activities

Hello everyone,
Things in the horsey world are getting back to normal after the storm disruption - although, unfortunately, some equestrian centres are still out of action due to the damage they sustained… Hopefully, they will be back to business as usual before too long, when competitors and school-hirers will be able to show their support. [Things in my world have been rather busy, between horses and hospital, so apologies for my tardiness with this email!]
Elsewhere, competitions are full steam ahead, with a fantastic variety of shows on in the past week or so - from show jumping to working hunter, from dressage to Flexi Eventing, there has been something for all tastes and levels! It is also nice to see a wee stretch in the evenings and, dare I say it, I think there might be a little bit of spring in the air…!

Knockagh View to host Paul Johnston Memorial midweek show jumping league
Due to the very sad loss of their regular judge and friend, Paul Johnston, Knockagh View Equestrian Centre, Greenisland are running the Paul Johnston Memorial midweek show jumping league in his memory, very kindly supported by his family.
Toni Donnelly to host lecture and demo
Toni Donnelly is well-known as a Working Hunter competitor and coach. With the showing season fast-approaching, Toni is hosting a Showing and Working Hunter lecture and demo evening at Danescroft Equestrian, Lisburn on Tuesday, February 11 at 6.30pm.

Lusk Equestrian sees a busy day of Working Hunter
Lusk Equestrian held the first of their now annual series of three Working Hunter shows on Sunday, February 2, starting sharp at 10am.
Fabulous day of dressage at Ardnacashel
What a fabulous day it was at Ardnacashel on Sunday, for week two of their Winter Dressage league! Riders were strutting their stuff and definitely catching the eye of judge Fiona Young.
Record entries at Flexi Eventing Series
Action continued unabated on Saturday for the fourth leg of the incredibly popular Baileys Horse Feeds Flexi Eventing Series held at The Meadows Equestrian Centre, Lurgan, where there were bumper entries across the board. 365 different combinations have now completed almost 1,000 activities over the four weeks.
Young riders shine at Connell Hill
Saturday, February 1 saw a very successful day’s jumping at Connell Hill Equestrian in Randalstown. Class 1, kindly sponsored by Doagh Equestrian, saw brother and sister team Beatrix and Oscar McCann ride lovely double clear rounds on ‘Boodles’ in the Pony cross-poles class, and were followed closely by Alice Gregg on ‘Patchy’, Sasha Maher on ‘Angel’ an…
Competitors return to Ecclesville after the storm!
The organisers of Ecclesville’s Show jumping League were pleased to welcome competitors back on Friday evening to jump at week three of the league.
