Hello and welcome to the 12th Straight from the Horse's Mouth podcast on Horse and Field!
Over the years, I have included Marian Tennyson’s name in numerous sets of results, as she has been a competitor in various jumping competitions.
Aside from that, I didn’t know Marian and didn’t know anything about her or her equestrian background. When someone told me that she had quite recently set up a riding school near Richhill in Co Armagh, I was intrigued to have a chat with her to find out more - particularly when so many other riding schools have closed in recent years. It is still so important to provide somewhere for people of all ages to learn to ride, especially those who do not own their own horse or pony, so I was keen to find out more about the facilities and the services that Marian offers through Smile Equestrian.
I was further intrigued to discover more about another venture she has started, called Hobby Horse NI…
I learned so much during our conversation, including that Smile Equestrian has a Pony Club Branch and has had members at Area competitions this year and at the Regionals in Scotland - well done to all those members!
I hope you enjoy our chat as much as I did!
If you would like to make contact with Marian, you can find Smile Equestrian on Facebook or you can go to the Hobby Horse NI website to find out more. Smile Equestrian also has a sign on the Armagh Road, in case anyone is passing by!
**Please note that a written article with photos will be posted to accompany the podcast.**
