Straight from the Horse's Mouth: Raymond Bready

Episode 23

Hello and welcome to the 23rd Straight from the Horse's Mouth podcast on Horse and Field!

My latest conversation was with Raymond Bready, whose name will be familiar to many in the local equestrian world. For those who don’t recognise Raymond’s name, they may well recognise his voice, as he has spent many years commentating for Eventing Ireland Northern Region, as well as for Saintfield Show, Castlewellan Show and Balmoral Show.

Raymond enjoys the role of MC, as well as commentator.

Raymond came from a farming background and has worked in the animal feed industry since he left school. While not from a horsey family, Raymond has had a connection with horses since he was a child - between frequenting his local show jumping venue, going pony trekking with the Young Farmers and becoming a valued member of Mossvale Riding Club, before getting involved in eventing.

Raymond is a natural with a microphone in his hand - his warm and open manner certainly adds to his talent as a commentator.

Raymond has been chief auctioneer at many’s a fundraiser.

He has recently become involved with Air Ambulance NI and, along with Adrienne Stuart of Gransha Equestrian Centre, did a skydive and a lengthy cycle to raise funds for the charity.

Raymond did a skydive in aid of Air Ambulance NI.
Raymond and Adrienne Stuart raised a fantastic sum of £30,000 for Air Ambulance NI.

Long may Raymond continue with his commentating at local shows and events.

I hope you enjoy our chat!
