Equine activity latest from Horse & Field
Local dressage and show jumping results, prize giving coverage and more!
Hi folks,
Thank goodness the weather has settled down for another wee while and the weekend saw some blue skies and sunshine - in fact, a friend and I went for a ride at Tollymore Forest on Sunday and the weather conditions were just perfect for our ride and for the obligatory cuppa afterwards!

The weekend was busy once again (it’s so great to see such a variety of equestrian activities for people to choose from!) and this Horse&Field newsletter brings you the first instalment of results and pictures from local competitions, as well as information on forthcoming events.
The past week saw Lusk Equestrian host the first of their Dressage days, with the sun shining and some talented combinations strutting their stuff. Meanwhile, for the show jumpers among us, Connell Hill kicked off a six-week indoor unregistered league, with Mossvale getting both their Adult and Junior leagues underway. Area 21 of the Side Saddle Association held their AGM and prize giving, with lots of silverware being distributed to these elegant ladies.
Looking forward the Northern Ireland Horse Board has announced their Christmas Raffle, which has a long list of fabulous prizes up for grabs - for more details click on the link below!
Also, just a reminder that if you’re not riding this weekend, the Festival of Racing at Down Royal has been re-scheduled for this Friday and Saturday and is always a great day (or two!) out.
The Horse&Field calendar lists local equine activities and is updated on a daily basis. We are trying to make the calendar as comprehensive as possible, so if you know of any events that aren’t yet listed, please let us know!
To new subscribers, welcome! You will receive this newsletter twice each week, as well as occasional emails in between - we want to keep you informed, but do not want to overload your inbox!
Please remember that Horse&Field will be updated on a regular basis and you can visit it at any time to see results or find out what is happening. If you wish, you can download the Substack app; you can search online for: horseandfield.substack.com or, if you are subscribed, just click on the email.
If you have any articles or photos to contribute, queries or suggestions, or if there is someone you think deserves to be featured in Horse&Field, please do send an email to horseandfield@gmail.com
Happy reading!
