It has been a busy week, so here is another Horse&Field newsletter, to keep you up to date with the latest local results, diary dates and previews of forthcoming shows and events.

The joys of horses
Horses can bring such great joy to those of us who choose to be in their company, but occasionally, whatever level we are at, things don’t go to plan and they can bring us disappointment or even worry. We should always remember to focus on the joy and the positives.
The past few days have certainly highlighted some equine ups and downs, as the summary below shows… Oh the joys of horses!

In the news
Congratulations must go to two local girls, Erin and Molly, for being selected for the Irish squad for the FEI Eventing European Championship for Ponies. There was huge disappointment for Erin once there, as she had to withdraw, but the hard work both girls put in to be selected deserves to be recognised.
Excitement is mounting at Hagans Croft as the final of their Dressage League will take place this Saturday!
Meanwhile, in registered show jumping, Connell Hill has held another leg of their SJI Summer league.
Endurance and pleasure riders alike ignored the rain and headed to Shane’s Castle Estate on Sunday, where ILDRA hosted their latest ride.
The date has been set for the St. Patrick’s Coast ride, which you won’t want to miss!
A bit further north, Northern Lights NI Riding Club are due to host a Derby at Dirraw Farm…
Junior Equitation competitors will be delighted to hear that Cian O’Connor’s Karlswood will be supporting the classes at Dublin Horse Show.
And this week, international show jumping fans are in for a treat, as the Nations Cup at Hickstead is being televised live on RTE!
