Local equine competitors spoilt for choice
Results and pictures from dressage, show jumping and Working Hunter
Hi folks,
I’m not quite sure how we’re at this time of the week again already - time is flying by!
There was lots again on at the weekend, with a great selection for competitors to choose from between dressage, show jumping and Working Hunter events. This Horse&Field newsletter brings you some of results and pictures from a variety of these local competitions, along with news and information on forthcoming events. Another instalment will follow as there’s not room for everything here!

The weekend commenced with another leg of the show jumping league being held at Ecclesville on Friday night, while the popular Winter League ran at Connell Hill on Saturday. Mossvale also continues to run pony jumping on a Friday night, which always attracts plenty of young talent.
Once again there was a choice of dressage competitions, with Lusk’s holding the final of their dressage series on Sunday, alongside the third week of the dressage league at Knockagh View.
Meanwhile, Ardnacashel continued with their Working Hunter League on Sunday, which is drawing both horse and pony competitors to the Comber venue.
Strule Valley Riding Club has announced their Winter schedule, which includes the club’s forthcoming Christmas Show.
Hopefully anyone who is thinking of taking part in the Santa Ride has by now heard or read that it will run in Downpatrick rather than Saintfield this year.
The Horse&Field calendar lists local equine activities and is updated on a daily basis. We are trying to make the calendar as comprehensive as possible, so if you know of any events that aren’t yet listed, please let us know!
I have recently received quite a number of dates for 2024, which are now in the calendar, so if you are trying to plan ahead for holidays, please do take a look! Thank you very much to those who send dates - it is so helpful to have the information and try to keep the calendar as up to date as possible.
To new subscribers, welcome! You will receive this newsletter twice each week, as well as occasional emails in between - we want to keep you informed, but do not want to overload your inbox!
Please remember that Horse&Field will be updated on a regular basis and you can visit it at any time to see results or find out what is happening.
