Local equestrian shows are in full swing - where will you go this weekend?
Hello everyone,
The weekend is fast approaching and this is just another instalment with results and pictures from last weekend, as well as details of another show you may wish to attend this coming weekend! There is long list of equestrian events on, so you will truly be spoilt for choice!

In case you haven’t already heard, Killyleagh Show returns this Saturday, with a new venue, but the usual great variety of classes. You can enter on the day, and the show will be donating a portion of their proceeds to the Children's Cancer Unit Charity - click on the link to find out more…
Killyleagh Show returns!
After an absence of a few years, Killyleagh Horse and Pony Show is back! The Show will be held this Saturday, June 22 on a new site at 32-34 Ringdufferin Road, Toye, Killyleagh. As in previous years, Killyleagh Show supports a local charity and, this year, the money will go to the Children’s Cancer Unit charity.
We have already mentioned that it is also the annual Beth’s Charity Derby Day at Danescroft, Lisburn, this Saturday - some tough decisions are called for!

Saintfield Show attracts a crowd
The 79th Saintfield Show took place last Saturday, June 15 at Glenbrook Farm, by kind permission of the Lawson family. There was plenty going on, between classes for cattle, sheep and poultry, as well as the usual vast array of classes to suit all shapes and sizes of equines - horses, ponies, donkeys and miniatures!
Megan dominates at Hagans Croft show jumping
Saturday, June 15 saw the third week of Hagans Croft’s Show Jumping League being held, with unexpected wall-to-wall sunshine! The day started with the cross-poles class, where, regardless of whether competitors were clear or not, everyone went home with a rosette as a way of encouragement - after all, these ponies and riders are the stars of the future!…
Summer fun gets underway at Portmore

Winning weekend at NIHB Summer Show
The Northern Ireland Horse Board Summer Horse Show was held at The Meadows Equestrian Centre, Lurgan last weekend, with some very competitive classes. Saturday saw SJI Summer Series classes from 90cm up to 1.20m being held, with a rug going to the winner of each class, followed by a 1.30m Grand Prix, which was won by Ellie Humphries riding Allison Mercer…
Lily and ‘Fireman’ on fire in Hagen
Lily Tunney and her pony ‘Fireman’ were certainly on fire on Sunday (June 16), when they won the Future Champions CSIOP 1.30m Grand Prix in Hagen, Germany. The pair, drawn first to go, opened the competition with an absolutely faultless performance, which saw only seven other clear first rounds.
