Straight from the horse's mouth: Emma Hobson

Episode five

Welcome to the fifth Horse & Field podcast, Straight from the horse’s mouth!

I had the pleasure of having a chat with Emma Hobson, who is a riding instructor, dressage rider and, more recently, a Pony Club mummy based in Co Armagh.

Emma is a school teacher by profession, but having worked in Scotland for several years, she decided to move back to Northern Ireland and get back to her horsey roots. Since then, Emma certainly hasn’t rested on her laurels… She has had a baby; she has done British Horse Society qualifications and now works as an instructor; she has competed up to Medium level in Dressage and her lockdown project was to set up Dressage at Home and International - a platform where those who want to have a go at dressage can choose the appropriate class and test, ride it at home and get videoed and submit the video online. This has proved popular with those who may get nervous or have difficulty travelling to shows and with those who wish to move up a level. I was keen to find out more!

Emma’s warm personality and enthusiasm is infectious, so it was a pleasure to speak to her. I hope you enjoy the conversation!
