I can’t believe another weekend has been and gone - the weeks are flying by… All the more reason to make the most of them, by getting out and enjoying your horse!
There is no shortage of equine activities at the moment, with a long list of competitions and rides on every week. Last weekend was no exception!

Mid Antrim Show will hold Unregistered jumping this Friday, August 2 at Castlehill Equestrian Centre, 86a Fenagh Road, Cullybackey.

Olympic atmosphere at Hazeldene
Hazeldene Equestrian Centre has fast become a centre of excellence for multi-faceted equestrian disciplines. The partnership duo of Andrew and Laura Napier have earned themselves well-deserved plaudits for being passionate about their sport, as well as being accommodating to those wishing to avail of the excellent facilities that their centre boasts.
Buser on course-building duty at Lusk's
Local Swiss horseman Markus Buser took over the course-building duties for the second week of show jumping at Lusk Equestrian to create different problems for the riders.
Double win for Sue and 'Lily' at Hagans Croft
The fourth leg of Hagans Croft’s five-week dressage league was held on Saturday, July 27. The sun came out for the occasion, which was very much welcomed on the day by all competitors, as they turned down the centre line riding Dressage Ireland tests.
Edward keeps up with daughter Clare at Connell Hill
Saturday, July 27 saw another great day’s jumping at Connell Hill Equestrian Centre, Randalstown. Joint first place in the 50cm class went to Clare Little on ‘Snowy’ and Julie Allen riding ‘Lily’.
Eimear and Robyn top Strule Valley members at show jumping league
Strule Valley Riding Club held the final night of their Annual Summer Show jumping League at Ecclesville Centre, Fintona. The club would like to thank all those who came along to compete and support their league.
Silver Shamrock success at Shane’s Castle
ILDRA (Irish Long Distance Riding Association) returned to Shane’s Castle near Antrim on Sunday, July 21, offering pleasure rides (PRs), vetted pleasure rides (VPRs) and competitive trail rides (CTRs) for attending riders and their horses.
Super Summer Festival for Dressage Ireland Northern Region
Competitors at the Dressage Ireland Northern Region Summer Festival enjoyed a fantastic weekend at Castle Irvine, Necarne, Irvinestown recently, achieving great scores from the judges. With over 300 tests ridden over the whole weekend, the competitors were glad the rain stayed away.
