Hi folks,
As promised, here is the second instalment of last weekend’s local equestrian coverage - the venues, the competitions, the equines and the riders that we have locally really are second to none! I do hope you can spare the time to have a scroll through the results and the fantastic photos that accompany them - there could well be some stars of the future among them!
There were plenty of show jumping competitions on offer, both registered and unregistered, while Working Hunter and Derby action also graced the schedule of local shows.

The Meadows hosts successful Pony Spring Tour
Over 370 ponies took to the arenas of the Meadows Equestrian Centre for the latest leg of the popular TRI Equestrian Spring Tour, organised by the Pony Committee of Show Jumping Ireland’s Ulster Region on Sunday, March 23.
Exciting competition at The Meadows
The Meadows Equestrian Centre hosted an exciting day of competition on Saturday, March 22, as part of the SJI Summer Series and Unregistered Spring League. The event featured a range of horse classes in Arena 1, whereas Arena 2 held the fourth leg of the Meadows’ Unregistered Summer Series.
SJI Spring League commences at Connell Hill
Connell Hill Equestrian Centre, Randalstown, held the first of their SJI Spring League shows on Thursday, March 20, giving registered show jumpers an opportunity to get out during the week and jump round well-designed tracks in the super facilities at the venue.
Action and atmosphere at Ardnacashel
All at Ardnacashel Equestrian, Comber had a lovely day at leg three of the centre’s Working Hunter League. The weather was on side once again and the atmosphere was blooming.
Fantastic St Patrick's Day Derby at Danescroft
It was Derby Day at Danescroft Equestrian, Lisburn, on Saturday, March 15 and what a fantastic day it was! The sun shone all day and Helen Worthington of Worthington Chiropractic very kindly sponsored the event, giving prizes from first to sixth in every class and the winner of each class received a beautifully embroidered rug.
